アグラの歴史

１６世紀、ムガル帝国はヒマラヤに流れを発するガンガーとヤムナー川両大河の流域を中心として北にヒマラヤ、西にタール砂漠、南にヴィンディヤ山脈に囲まれた北インドに繁栄の礎を築いた。アグラは、デリーからヤムナー川沿いに約２００ｋｍ下ったところにある地方都市、タジ・マハル、アグラ城など、ムガル帝国の栄光をしのばせる遺跡がある。

History of Agra

In 16th. century, Mughal Empire build the foundation of prosperous country at the center of the drainage area of both great river the Ganga and Yamuna originated by Himalaya. At a local city, Agra at about 200km down stream the Yamuna from Delhi, you will find the ancient monument redolent of the Mughal Empire glory

タジ・マハル

１６世紀半ば第３代皇帝アクバルは首都をここアグラに置き１世紀程の間帝国の中心として繁栄した。その後１６３１年、第５代皇帝シャー・ジャハーンは、熱愛した妃アルジュマンド・バース・ベーガム（亡き妃の称号：ムムターズ･マハル）の死を悲しみ、その愛を表現しようと、帝国の国力を傾けてこのタジ・マハルを建設した。

Taj Mahal

The midterm of 16th. century , the 3rd Emperor Akbar established capital city in Agra and prospered in the way of Empire center during a century. After that, at 1631, the 5th emperor Shah Jahan built The Taj Mahal as a mausoleum for his died wife, Arjumand Banu Begum (also known as Mumtaz Mahal) to described his love and by pouring national strength.

Tuesday, 16, December 1997	The visiting Taj Mahal was lag behind one day than the night with a full moon of 16th. Taj Mahal is located the place where you are able to look over Yamuna river streaming along the garden. Taking up sketch map of the garden, backing small pack, keeping waiting tour guide Joshi outside I set foot on the garden toward Taj Mahal. I　was at a loss there. Threading the way through a crowd, I toward to the gate Joshi 's waiting, however I lost my way in large garden. Back and forth...... After about one hour, blessedly　I was able to take a breather on the rykisha drawing by man with nice footwork.	１６日、満月の夜に遅れをとること一日のタジマハルの訪れ。　広い庭園に沿って流れるヤムナー川を望む地にタジ・マハルが建っている。私は帰路を書いた見取り図を手に、バックパックを背に、ガイドのｼﾞｮｼを外に待たせタジマハルに向かって庭園に足を踏み入れた。途方に暮れる。群集と共に流されながら、予定のタジマハル見学を終え、ガイドｼﾞｮｼの待つ門に向かう、が方向を見失い私はこの広い庭園の中を徒歩で行ったり来たり．．．．一時間程後、幸いにして庭園ｹﾞｰﾄと宮殿入門の間を往復する軽やかなフットワークの人力車の上で私は一息ついていた。
Wednesday, 17, December1997	Early morning, we met some Japanese at Red Fort. I did not feel the impression of how the capital city of Mughal Empire located here. Agra may be semblant to Kamakura in Japan.	早朝、アグラ城で日本人に出会う。一時期、ムガル帝国の首都がここアグラにあった、と言う印象は薄い。日本で言えば古都鎌倉と言うところか。
